Mary Lois (Taylor) Misken began studying The Alexander Technique in 1987 to enhance her performance as a singer.
After six years of personal study, she decided to train to become a teacher. She enrolled at The Alexander Educational Center in Walnut Creek, California, an AmSAT certified training course, where her teachers were Giora Pinkas and John Baron.
She has taught the technique since 1998, primarily in the Denver area.

Mary Lois lives in Littleton with her husband. She has two grown children, and a new grandchild.
